Chris: Construction has long been a passion for me, ever since my mother and grandmother (who’s father was a tailor and musician) first put a needle in my hands and taught me how to stitch a ruffle when I was barely starting school. Since then I haven’t stopped. My mother taught me all she knew from being self taught so I knew there was more to learn and I wanted to learn as much as I could. By the time I was 12 years old I began making my own clothes. I had a wonderful church I was going to at the time and they had a great youth program with lots of arts & crafts, which I loved. So in the summer of 1966 a sewing class on how to make your own summer dresses was offered. "Oh yeah I thought!" I was so excited and they had everything there I needed to make my perfect summer dress. I picked my pattern and some pretty light green fabric and made my dress. When it came time to model it something was wrong. Something was very wrong, because it wasn’t comfortable and it just didn’t fit right. I later learn from our teacher I had cut the fabric inside out. Who knew!? Not me that there was a right way and a wrong way. It was a fun wonderful experience and with all they taught pieces for the plays, which was wonderfully fun. My daughter pushed me through her love of vintage clothing and by the spring of 2005 had gotten her own opportunity as the wardrobe and makeup lady in Los Angeles for student films and independents. She then called me in to assist her for a few day and had a great time. I think that really pushed me more into pursuing my own work and now my daughter and I have became partners in designs and construction of costumes of all periods, one of a kind Couture clothing and sale of true vintage clothing and accessories as well.

Rj Slade: Vintage Photography and clothing are where my heart lies. I often shoot a very old school style with limited photoshop and lots of old Hollywood glamor. I use vintage clothing and creation of ours in my shoots and often only wear vintage clothes. Modern clothes just don't fit well and aren't done have as nice, My body fits the vintage era so much better since I have a small rib cage but normal chest and hips. That's always where having costume clothes made for you come into play. Much better then the generic one size fit's all of today. When a dress fits just right, you feel like a million bucks.
